The 28-room guesthouse is owned by Ponheary Ly and her family; natives of Siem Reap. At the end of the Khmer Rouge era, the Lys had to rebuild their lives from less than scratch. Their Guesthouse stands as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of family. Three generations (including the eight children you may see running around!) of friendly Lys live in the private residence with Lori Carlson, the resident foreigner, living on-site as well.

Seven Candles is located on Wat Bo Road, a short 10-minute walk along the river to the Old Market, in an area filled with great local restaurants and shops. Have breakfast on our lovely patio before setting out each morning or head out to any number of local eateries in the neighborhood.
Borrow a bicycle to make getting around Siem Reap easy! The Guesthouse also has several tuktuk drivers on site, who are available to take you wherever you'd like to go.

Cambodia is rich with history and tradition and Siem Reap offers a wide array of activities to keep you entertained and engaged. Enjoy a wild night on the town or any number of cultural and artistic presentations. Enjoy fine dining or street food tours. Get out in the countryside, stand it waterfalls, do a bit of shopping, have a massage and then another. We hope you'll stay an extra few days and enjoy the area.

Get off the tour bus and see the sights with a licensed, private tour guide. Our guides are lifetime residents who have a deep understanding of the mythology, history, and architecture of the area and decades of experience showing visitors from all over the world a tour of Angkor Wat they will never forget. Your guide will know the best time to arrive to avoid the crowds and even what time of day offers the best light for photography. All private tours are completely customized which allows you to set your own pace. If it all seems overwhelming, not to worry; we can make suggestions.
